Dear Jo,
RE: Universal Systems Controls (USC)
Our company have used USC on a number of projects for the supply and installation of various BMS controls systems.
We started using USC for the controls installations for many reasons including price, quality, commitment, service, standard of installation and aftercare help and advice.
The main project I personally used USC, was the prestigious Michael Faraday Primary School in Southwark London. This was a flagship new school for the up and coming development of the Southwark area of London, and was to be the centre focal point of the development.
USCs involvement was to supply, install and commission a complete BMS system controlling heating (boilers, plant, control valves etc), ventilation, Air handling plant, hot water systems, integration of a specialised Ground Source Heatpump system, along with CO2 detection, gas and water monitoring.
All the systems where connected to a central head end PC for monitoring and adjusting set points, alerting system faults etc.
The project was particularly challenging due to the nature of the high specification of the controls systems required, and the fact that the school was built as two buildings, one which was internal and one externally on the roof of the main school. It could be noted that the main school building was built circular (a challenge to install containment alone).
USC executed the installation to an extremely high quality with exceptional professionalism, and were ALWAYS on hand for advice whenever it was required.
USC would always go over and above expectations, when requested, and as an example on completion of the project and demonstration of the operation of the system, we were asked to re-demonstrate the systems and provide instruction a couple of more times due to the schools staff changes etc, and USC were always very prompt in providing this service (even at very short notice).
The people involved in the project from a staff point of view were Mr Grant Capon and Mr Stuart Minns who both have an extremely impressive knowledge and significant experience off the controls systems (I cannot recall a time when they did not have an almost instant response to any questions or queries when asked). Also their commitment and professionalism was second to none, and I would like also to extend this comment to their site teams who Grant and Stuart managed.
